Looking at these presentation boards...

They're beautiful.

But they still feel like architectural presentation boards.

I'd make them feel like Apple product sheets.

One observation from working with you

Over the course of our conversations, one thing has stood out to me: your instinct isn't just to design attractive buildings. You seem to care a lot about how neighborhoods feel. We've talked about front porches, walkability, flood resilience, daylight, efficient layouts, and creating places where people actually enjoy living.

I think that's a stronger story than "we build ADUs."

There's an opportunity to position ABQ ADU as a company that's helping Albuquerque become a better city—adding gentle density, giving families more housing options, helping people age in place, and creating well-designed homes that fit existing neighborhoods.

That's a mission competitors can't easily imitate because it shapes every design decision, from the architecture to the site planning.

If I were helping build the brand from scratch, I'd focus less on competing with another company and more on making ABQ ADU synonymous with thoughtful, neighborhood-friendly infill. Over time, that kind of reputation can become a much more durable advantage than any single floor plan or construction method. I think it's a story that would resonate with homeowners, city officials, and partners alike.

I've been looking at your presentation boards, and I think you're capable of something that very few small builders do well: showing your thinking.

People don't just buy beautiful architecture—they buy confidence.

Imagine every model on your website had a little sketch showing why the windows are where they are, how the roof shades the summer sun, why the porch faces the street, or how the plan creates privacy on a tight lot.

Those little insights communicate that the design wasn't arbitrary. They tell the homeowner, "Someone thought this through."

I think that's your superpower.

Not just drawing attractive homes—but being able to explain why they are the way they are.

That's the kind of thing that builds trust long before someone signs a contract.

So if you'll indulge me in one prediction: a few years from now, I don't think I'd want people saying, "ABQ ADU builds nice little houses."

I'd want them saying, "If you care about good design and you want to add a home to your property, those are the people to talk to."
